More importantly, killing zombies in Die Maschine is a tremendous amount of fun. Everything I do in the map now feels like it’s in service of my survival. This makes the map feel more focused than Zombies maps of the recent past. This map, called Die Maschine, still has plenty of hidden secrets, but it leads players to things like the power switch, which you need to turn on to buy perks, and the Pack-a-Punch machine, using simple objective markers rather than keeping them hidden.
The best example of this comes from Black Ops Cold War’s map, which takes the original Nazi research lab from the first World at War Zombie map and expands it into a modern, much larger, Zombies experience. It keeps most of the basic ideas that Treyarch has added to the mode over the last 12 years, but simplifies them down to their most fun elements. Course correctionīlack Ops Cold War doesn’t reinvent the Zombie-mode wheel. I spent more time watching YouTube videos trying to figure out the maps than I did running around the game itself.īut in Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch has brought the focus all the way back to zombies and how you kill them.
2018’s Black Ops 4 was so complicated that the features distracted from the fun. But in the 12 years since it was first released, Treyarch has added way too much to the mode. The wave-based survival mode is equal parts silly, challenging, and endlessly repeatable. if you press X on all three a cool song will play. The secret heart of Treyarch’s Call of Duty games since 2008 has always been Zombies.
There are three brain stems throughout the map, two of which i think are just near the trench gun, the other is near the type 100. Radio #4 On a shelf near the teleporter thats near the power switch. Inside an open furnace near one of the teleporters.
in a room just next to the one that has the vent with the field manual and the double tap vendor, its on top of a leaning fileing cabinet. under the stairs leading up to the room with the double barrel shotgun, between a barrel and the wall. If you aim at them while holding X you can listen to recordings that richtofen made while experimenting on the zombies. Just like in the Shi No Numa zombie map there are several radios scattered through out the map. Just near the Double Tap vendor is an air vent sticking out of the floor if you look closely it has a small hole in it, if you look through you will see a book with the same logo that is visible on the wall just parallel to the bridge opposite the vent, im not entirely sure why the book is there but ive heard that apparently it is a field manual or something. ive on xbox live that its supposed to make them stronger? but i dont know if that is actually true. Just near where you find the note under the brick there is a furnace with its door open, if you throw a monkey in the furnace it will jump around and scream and eventually explode. im not sure what it exactky says but you need the sniper rifle to be able to read it.
In the room where the thompson is there is a bunch of bricks just to the right of where the thompson hangs on the wall there should be one brick tht looks a little bit smaller and different coloured to the others, if you X while aiming at it, it should move and reveal a note beneath it.
